UK property repossessions offer property investment with excellent capital growth and a good rental yield. The best place to look is city centre apartments that have been purchased buy property investors with buy-to-let mortgages.

Repossessed properties are all but given away by big lenders such as Mortgage Express, BM Solutions, UCB to name but a few. I know of apartments that have been sold by some of these lenders for around 50% of their mortgaged value. So the lucky investor who picks up a property investment like this has instant equity, and a good rental yield is all but guaranteed.

City Estate Agencies

Go to the web and take a look at estate agents listings in all the major cities. Only look at city based apartments as this is where you are going to find the best deals, with properties that have become over valued and have out grown their rental potential.

Call the agent to see what repossessed properties they have on their books and if there are any deals to be had. You are looking for properties that can be purchased at a price that suddenly makes them viable again. Remember investment properties are a business proposition. Rental income is off set against mortgage payments etc and should leave a surplus. In the case of investment property that has been repossessed, there is no surplus.

Property Auctions

Repossessed properties that have not sold in an estate agents window will go to auction. Have a search around the web and do some research as to the what, where and when. The best property deals will be found here, although you will need to have your wits about you.

Rise like a phoenix

Property investments that are dead can rise again with a bit of financial restructuring, which makes them into a viable business proposition again.

Happy hunting.
